As summer ends and fall is quickly approaching, many are preparing to return back to school. At Artisan Aesthetics Plastic Surgery & Laser Center we also are preparing to educate our own Florida “students” on a subject that we are passionate about: breast augmentation. Today we are going to give you a crash course on this life changing procedure and its numerous benefits for women.
A+ Confidence
There are many reasons why a woman might seek out breast augmentation to give them that unshaken confidence. The following are just a few of the reasons women consider implants:
- Asymmetrical breasts (size or shape)
- Feels breasts are too small
- Wishes breasts were proportional to the rest of her body
- After having kids and breast feeding
- After significant weight loss
- Dissatisfied with volume loss
- To improve the shape and size of her breasts
Breast Augmentation 101
Get your pencils ready – time to take some notes on what breast augmentation entails. Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed by Dr. Castor at Artisan Aesthetics Plastic Surgery & Laser Center to enhance the look and feel of a woman’s breasts.
Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and normally takes 1 hour. During the procedure, Dr. Castor will make an incision along the breasts and insert an implant of a woman’s choice. The two different kinds of implants are silicone gel implants and saline implants. Not sure which one is best? Dr. Castor helps women decide which of these implants is right for her, based on her aesthetic goals for this procedure. After the implants are perfectly placed, Dr. Castor will close the incisions and the breast augmentation procedure is complete.
Recovery: Careful Lifting Those Heavy Textbooks!
The recovery process for each woman is very different but generally speaking, most women are able to return back to work (or school!) in less than a week. While women are able to get back to their regular routine, it is important to avoid heavy lifting for a while after the procedure. Other forms of exercise, like walking around or even jogging to your next class may resume a week later depending on a woman’s pain tolerance.
