Tighten Up the Turkey Neck with the New Renuvion J-Plasma

The turkey neck can be embarrassing. And unfortunately, its appearance may be out of your control. Things like the aging process, gravity, and sun damage can all contribute to loose, sagging skin and excess fat in the neck and jowl areas. But there’s an exciting new procedure that uses innovative plasma and radio frequency energy to rejuvenate these tissues at the cellular level—the Renuvion® J-Plasma. Providing dramatic results with lower risks and recovery time than more invasive surgery, the Renuvion is so effective because it tightens and refreshes skin from the inside out. So let’s take a look at how the entire process works here at Artisan Aesthetics Plastic Surgery & Laser Center.

Step One – Your Personal Consultation

The first step on the road to a tight and contoured neck and jawline is your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Castor. During this time, he will thoroughly evaluate the problem area and how it relates to the face and surrounding anatomy. He will also discuss your goals for chin and neck rejuvenation. Based on all of these factors, he will then present a personalized Renuvion plan based on your unique features and needs.

Step Two – Starting the Procedure

After determining the best approach and getting ready for treatment, the jowl and neck areas will be marked and mild sedation will be administered. This will ensure that you experience no pain or discomfort at all throughout the entire process. It is critical that you’re completely relaxed during the procedure, but general anesthesia is typically not needed to accomplish this.

Step Three – Removing Excess Fat

Now that the area has been numbed and you’re fully at ease, Dr. Castor will insert a very small and thin tube, called a cannula, into the trouble area to remove any built-up fat that’s contributing to the appearance of a turkey neck or double chin. Not only will it help to shape and contour the area being treated, it will also have the effect of opening up the tissues so that the Renuvion can be as effective as possible.

Step Four – Tightening Up the Skin

This is where the magic really happens. Once the fat has been removed, you’re all set for the latest in skin tightening technology—the Renuvion J-Plasma. For this part of the procedure, Dr. Castor will insert the wand underneath the skin through a very small incision that will heal nicely on its own. A combination of cold helium plasma and radio frequency energy are delivered to uniformly heat the tissues. This action enables the coagulation and tightening of the cells internally without damaging or overheating the tissues. The process is performed until the whole neck area has been covered.

Step Five – The Recovery Process

Now that the hard part is over, it’s time for you to sit back and relax while your body’s healing process does the rest. Contrary to other procedures, there’s very little downtime associated with the Renuvion J-Plasma system, even when combined with liposuction. You may notice some swelling and bruising for several days afterward, but most patients feel well enough to return to work within a few days. There may be some slight discomfort as well, but that can be managed with an over-the-counter pain medication.

Step Six – Look Amazing!

Now all that’s left to do is show off your perfectly sculpted jawline and neck. You won’t have to worry about covering up or concealing embarrassing loose skin any longer. Your confidence will get a huge boost and you’ll look younger and more refreshed after this rejuvenating treatment. But it’s not just the neck area that can benefit from this amazing technological advancement. The Renuvion J-Plasma can also be done anywhere on the body that there is loose skin, including the abdomen, flanks, upper arms, inner thighs, and back.
